Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Universal Hospital is designed and supported with the advanced equipment and capabilities for the neonatal care and management of critically ill full term and preterm neonates, who require intensive care monitoring. They are more susceptible to respiratory problems requiring pulmonary assistance and ventilation.

Term babies, those born after 37 weeks gestation, require general care including immunization, feeding problems, and management of neonatal jaundice.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Universal Hospital is a HAAD certified Level 3 NICU, which means that it is capable of caring for very small or premature babies or very sick newborn babies. We have very experienced and well trained staff on site, including neonatologists, neonatal nurses, and respiratory therapists who are available 24 hours a day.

The Neonatology Unit at Universal Hospital provides management and treatment for various conditions including:

. Care of pre-term and low birth weight babies . Management of neonates with respiratory distress syndromes requiring mechanical ventilation .
